Welcome to the new
Growth-Promoting Communication and Relationships Site

What's New as of Oct 19:

Since I've been adding stuff often lately, I'm just going to add "What's New" at the top of this page each time and then continue below it with the list of what's been added before. This will help new visitors to know what's available.

Today I did some major changes to the essay "A Basic Introduction to Growth Promoting Communication and Growth Promoting Relationships"

In it am trying to lay out the amazing, but not so easy to describe process of growth that happens within a relationship when some very specific qualities are present in that relationship. It's taken me quite a while to refine and develop these qualities enough within myself to where I can start to talk about them (and yet they are still in their infancy within me and still developing.) But I was hoping to produce a paper which describes it in a way that new readers can get a grasp of how it works and the possibilities inherent in this process. Most of the paper consists of excerpts from Carl Rogers, with an intro and a few short paragraphs from me. I think it will be a work in process for some time still, and so I would love feedback as to how it sounded to you and also what might make it clearer.

September 30:

Today I've added a nice interview with Marshall Rosenberg in English, called "The Language of Nonviolence" you can see it by clicking here.

September 12:

I'm adding lots of stuff lately, trying to make this site fully functional. We now have a german site too, www.aluvia.de, but I won't have anything on it for another few weeks. It will only direct visitors over here to the German pages of Aluvia.com anyway.

And the German pages are coming together too. Just today we've added a brief German article about Marshall Rosenberg's work - "Non-Violent Communication" which in German is "Gewaltfreie Kommunikation." You can see that article by clicking here.

I'm also going to add a page with a form that visitors can use to send me a message. These messages can be anything - from feedback, to requests for more info, maybe you have some suggestions, or just to let me know that you are checking out this site. I'd love to know. Also, if you'd like to be informed when I add new material, just tell me and leave me your e-mail address, and I'll notify you when I put new things on the site. There's lots coming!

September 8:

There is a new article describing the relationship between Growth Promoting Communication and Growth Promoting Relationships, you can find it by clicking here.

I also have included an essay about Carl Rogers written by Eugene Gendlin (Gendlin is the founder of the "Focusing" process). Since the work of both Carl Rogers and Eugene Gendlin are central to the theme of this site I felt that this was a particularly appropriate way to give the reader a concise summary of Carl Rogers' life and work. The essay was written by Eugene Gendlin, among other things, as an acknowledgement of their friendship shortly after Carl Rogers' death. Click here.

August 29:

Here are some new additions. I've put on the site a fairly detailed tutorial on Marshall Rosenberg's Compassionate Communication Process (also know as Non-violent Communication). You can find it here.

Also, if you are new to this site you will notice that it is quite new and some of the links in the side bar at the left just go to the articles index since I don't have all the pages ready yet. Hopefully it won't stay that way for long, but in the mean time, the articles and essays there are great, and quite readable. If you want a suggestion of where to start, read Marshall's Compasssionate Communication essay, and then Carl Rogers Interpersonal Communication essay. They are both great. There is also a second wonderful Carl Rogers essay too, and the Rogers texts are both available in English and Deutsche (German). You can get to the Deutsche versions by clicking here to go to the Articles page.

I've created this site out of my longings for a world where people can listen to each other deeply and from the heart.

As Carl Rogers put it, "Good communication within and between people is always therapeutic."

But what's amazing is that normal people in every-day life can get these "therapeutic" and "healing" results, just by knowing some very simple but amazingly powerful communication skills.
